Esri Resources to the Rescue!

We used the resources supplied by Esri extensively for last year's event and plan to do the same this year.

These can be found at Resources | GIS Day 2023.

Resources we used and how:

  • put up posters in several locations throughout the office weeks in advance
  • used the power point template during our lighting talks including PowerUp & our new ExB.
  • used their images in our Sharepoint internal communications, for example

  • ... and handed out Esri origami prints for employees to submit with each creation added to the draw to win a gift certificate from a locally owned & operated business (Positive Inception)

Thank you Esri for the GIS Day Resources. The icing on the cake* this year will be a digital badge (for me) and some GIS Day Stickers (for participants).

* yes, we had a GIS Day cake too!

Your advice is fantastic, and the event you planned sounds like it was a great success, @PaulGiroux1! Offering different time slots for demos throughout the day is a great idea, and gives folks an opportunity to participate. I'm looking forward to see how your GIS Day event unfolds this year!

Thank you and yes, in the local utility where these events are being held, 1 hour time slots are the only way to go as we can only have small batches of employees off desk at a time to ensure we maintain our regulated service levels (ex. customer service, etc.).

It also allows us to get better throughout the day.

Thanks for the Badge!
