FDO error: -2147221231 in ArcMap

Hi

I get this error when I add the Excel file from the "Add Data" method":

Failed to connect to  database.

FDO error: -2147221231

Please guide me.

That number is tied to old versions of Windows operating system.... up date it

in the interim use
