Dear, This is Mirza Sium Masud, a Master's (Natural Resources Management) graduate from the Royal University of Bhutan. Prior to that, I completed a Bachelor's in Forest Science and a Four-year Professional Diploma in Forestry. During my study, I found the importance of geospatial analysis in the Natural Resources Management (NRM) sector. Although I gained various aspects of the geospatial field, the ever-developing areas remain untouched. Since I have the foundational knowledge and skills, I wish to dedicate myself to it and fully join the community for advanced learning and application. I aim to actively participate in the events and mentorship programs where I can engage and contribute. I am optimistic about starting my career in the community. Therefore, I seek possible and kind guidance in this regard.
Welcome Mirza! Are you currently working in natural resource management? What sort of opportunities in the field exist where you live?
Dear Mirza,
Thank you for sharing your background and aspirations—your foundation in forestry and natural resource management combined with your interest in geospatial analysis is a strong and valuable combination.
I’d be happy to offer guidance. To better support you, could you share a bit more about your goals—are you most interested in pursuing a career in research, industry (e.g., GIS analyst, environmental consulting), or continuing with advanced academic studies in geospatial science?
