The Esri Technical Certification Program has continued to make some exciting enhancements to our exam performance reports to improve the test taker experience. Read below to learn more about these changes and subscribe to Esri Technical Certification in the Esri Community to stay up to date on the latest program information. If you have any questions, ask them here.

What are Exam Performance Reports?

Exam Performance Reports tell you how you did on your certification exam, and these reports are made available anywhere from 1-10 business days following your exam date. These are provided by our exam proctoring partner, Pearson VUE, following the completion of a certification exam. View more details about our exam performance reports and exam policies here.

What Are the Enhancements?

Esri certification started making changes to our exam performance reports in 2024, and we will be adding additional features in 2025. See the full list of updates below.

2025 Updates:

Any candidate who takes a 2025 certification exam version (Ex: ArcGIS Pro Associate 2025) will have their score reports delivered to them through the same website used to register for and take an exam - Pearson VUE. This update allows test takers to receive their exam performance information faster.

Previous exam versions offered (2024 and prior) are currently hosted by our vendor CertMetrics. In November 2025, we will host all active exam performance information within Pearson VUE.

2024 Updates:

All current and future exams in the Esri Academy, including beta exams, will have section-level performance reports that are broken down into three color-coded categories as shown below:

  1. Passed (green)
  2. Almost met (yellow)
  3. Does not meet (red)

These categories are color-coded to allow test takers to see easily identify which sections of an exam they were successful (green) and identify areas of an exam where additional preparation is needed in the event an exam is not passed on the first attempt (yellow, red).

Please note that candidates who pass an exam do not receive the section-level performance report in body of the email they receive since they passed all sections.

How does it work?

When you take an Esri certification exam you will receive one of two exam performance reports:

If you pass an exam, you will receive two separate emails.

  1. The first email will provide you with your passing notification and some important information about your new certification.
  2. A second email sent by Credly (our digital badge provider) will issue you your certification digital badge with instructions on how to accept this badge. You can learn more about digital badges here.

If you do not pass an exam, you will receive one email with a section-level score performance report telling you the sections you passed and the ones you almost or did not pass.
