We are using Oracle10g with ArcSDE to load big rasters.
We had some problems with Archive size and would like to understand how it works.
In our test we took 5 Gb raster (uncompressed size) and load it into ArcSDE using JPG 75%.
The BLK table took about 2 GB inside the database (including pyramids) and the Archive size was about 4 Gb.
Does this makes sense? How can the Archive be bigger than the table itself?
What should be the Archive size if we need to load 200 Gb uncompressed images between backup and cleaning of the archive?
