Given up on postgres (see query below), and have installed sqlserver 2005 on the box. Tried copying a dataset from 9.3 sde to this one (v 10.0), and I get this error. This error has been loggin on the forums during beta testing, as was removed in v10.0. But, its still there!

I also note that I can't export the dataset to a shapefile (a 99998 unexpected error), I can to the XML outputs, but can't import from those....

Regards
Andy

Hi Andy,

You might be running into this bug:

NIM056973: Copy/paste of a feature class from a 9.3x SDE geodatabase that contains metadata with a D...

It is fixed in ArcGIS 10 sp1. It might be worth testing the copy/paste again after installing it...
