Synchronize mosaic dataset not working

I have an inherited process to synchronize a master mosaic dataset from a mosaic dataset that is split up by year.  It has always worked.  Well the server hardware has been replaced and the synchronize function is not pulling updates to the annual mosaic datasets.  I would guess the path process to pull from several mosaic datasets into the the larger dataset is broken.  I do not see anywhere that defines the source datasets so that the larger dataset knows where to pull the updates when synchronize is selected.  I hope this makes sense and I'd rather not start over from scratch if I can help it.

The solution is to add the table space instead of raster, then the parent mosaic dataset will see the reference datasets again.
