Hi all,

I'm trying to convert a DEM from ESRI GRID format to .img format. As a result, data displays in all black. I've tried calculating statistics several different ways, but the file still shows no statistics. The file needs statistics to apply stretched values for symbology. Has anyone experienced this issue? Please help...

Thanks in advance,

Luke

Hi Luke,

Can you use the identify tool to see what your output pixel values are?

Hey Robert,

Yes. I am able to identify pixel values and they reflect accurate elevation values. However, all pixels show zero for the stretched value. Thus, the data displays in all black.

Thanks,

Luke

I have been experiencing something like this in 10, but when I go to "classify" and hit ok, and then back to stretch it fixes the view.

I am also having this issue, but only for some rasters out of a set of very similar files.  The raster can build an attribute table but when I try to reclassify, it fails because the raster statistics cannot be built.  I cannot build them in ArcCatalog or in ArcMap.  I'd appreciate any help on this issue too!  It seems to be related to an incorrectly classified minimum and maximum - I have DN values ranging from 0-255 and the error messages say:
The input raster minimum (A huge number) is out of range.
To ensure a correct reclassificaiton, edit ranges or use a different precision settings in the reclassification dialog box.
It also says this about the maximum.  WHY!??
