problem with arcscan

hello,
i want to use ArcScan to vectorize my scanned images, my images are .tiff

first I put my tiff image into ArcMap (the image is with colors) I geo-reference with control points then I rectify the image,
the concern is when I try to open an edit session to activate the arcscann tools an error show up saying: error: No layer can be
updated

The raster must be a classified into two colors, per the help on ArcScan.  You cannot use it to edit a 3 band RGB raster if that is the color one you have.

I have a similar problem.  tool works perfectly until the image is georeferenced.  Did you find a solution?
