I would like to extract depth data from the ESRI provided Ocean basemap. I have several shapefiles for which I would like to find the deepest depth contained within the shapefile. I assume this should involve converting the shapefiles to raster and populating the raster file with the depth data within the basemap.
a) I cannot find a resource online to provide guidance on this and am lost
b) Will this require spatial analyst or 3-d analyst?
