When I edit an feature or a table in ArcMap or set a property on an feature or a table in ArcCatalog I get an invalid index and/or lock error message when I try to manipulate the object again in the same connection session. Typically, closing all instances of ArcMap and Catalog on my client clears this but is there any way to release these locks in the open session essentially "commiting" all these changes made so far in the session with closed all the open sessions and re-opening them?
Our SDE geodatabase is in 9.2 and our desktop is 10.0 and a lot of our users (seeing similar behaviors) have to do the same in their environments and are of the opinion that upgrading SDE to 10.0 will fix this but is there a workaround in the meantime? We are going through a lot of IT environment changes so our SDE upgrade will not be immediate but in the meantime it is a pain to have to close all our sessions just to flush this.
Thanks,
