NOTE:
This inquiry is with respect to a testing/development environment and NOT a production environment.
Currently, I have ArcGIS 10 installed with an ArcSDE gdb setup on SQL Server Express on my laptop.
There are some other 'interoperability pieces' that are not yet ready for Arc* 10, so I was considering installing Arc 9.3 on a VM and would like to setup the 9.3 ArcSDE gdb on the VM as well.
My question is, can the 9.3 ArcSDE gdb instance on the VM point to the SQL Express on my host, or would I need a separate SQL Express instance on the VM?
