I'm using the new LAS Dataset Toolbar for the first time. Great feature! I've uploaded a LiDAR LAS dataset. Two questios:

1) Can I view the surface TINs at a lower resolution than 1:10 000 (i.e. 1:25 000)?

2) Can I reclassify/re-colour the Elevation surface TIN.

These seem like easy things to do but I can't figure it out, even after viewing online documentation.

Thanks,
Serge

After you create the LAS dataset, you should add the toolbar and then be sure to zoom until the points are visible.  There will be a % visible on top of the LAS dataset in the Table of Contents. The toolbar tools should light up. It is not possible to specifically answer the question on the scale without specific data, but you should be able to zoom in and see the point cloud.  If you have exceeded the max number of points you can adjust that figure, but it may be necessary to export the las dataset as a raster or put in a terrain to see certain las datasets.

I was having a similar problem with the symbology.  When I chose elevation TIN as my display option everything draws the color of the lowest elevation.  I manually deleted the different renderers in the properties for that las dataset and added back in a elevation based surface renderer and it still will not display correctly.  Finally, I upped the sample size used when classifying breaks(from 10,000 to 100,000) and re-selected natural breaks, and then it started drawing correctly.  Hope this helps.

I have been asked if it's possible to output the index layer that is created when you create a LAS dataset?
thanks
