ok so here is my problem every time I download an aerial photo from a my states website and try to add them to arcmap I get this message. now somehow I've figured out how to get a couple photos to work but I keep forgetting how I did it the last time, so could anybody tell me why its doing this and what I need to do to make this work.

Also I'm running ArcGIS10 on windows 7 if that makes a difference and the photos are downloaded as an .sid file

If the .sid rasters are Generation 4 you may need to upgrade to 10.1 or install the Lizardtech plugin.

This page suggests to use the free GeoViewer tool.

Normally you would look at the source properties on the sid, but at this point I would suggest to follow Luke's suggestion of the viewer. If you cannot see the sids with the viewer, then they have been corrupted and will need to be downloaded or if they download is correct the vendor needs to be contacted to upload the correct version.
