I have a strange issue with some raster grids I've been working with. They were .img format, and were converted to .flt using Geosoft (it's a geological data processing software). The new files were then copied to a new directory, however when I copied them, .prj files were also copied (I didn't copy these, and they are visible like any other file in Catalog). Deleting the .prj files would mean the spatial information attached to the .flt rasters gets deleted. My question is, why were the .prj files copied across and are now visible, and how can I get rid of them whilst keeping the .flt rasters and their spatial information?
