Hi,

Just downloaded the GDBT tool for ArcGIS version 10. Found two issues as describing below. Please help to identify the issue and how to fix the missing ocx error. Thanks!

1. the install.bat script has problem when trying to register the SDEUtilSvr10.dll. I can fix this error by adding quotes to the file name.

2. After successfully run the install.bat, click the GDBT tab in ArcCatalog, I got the error complaining the missing file mschrt20.ocx.

My env: XP SP3. ArcGIS 10. MS .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 and 4

The following is the list of the result:

ArcGIS Desktop 10
ArcGIS 10.0 (Desktop, Engine, Server) Geodatabase Replication Upgrade patch
ArcGIS 10 Desktop Raster Format Patch
ArcGIS 10 Desktop Add Globalids in ArcView Patch
ArcGIS Desktop 10 File Menu Performance Patch

I fixed the problem by downloading the mschrt20.ocx. and register with the registry.

It seems the library were part of the VB6. I don't have the VB6 installed on my PC, thus the error.

Wonder if this is the correct fix?

thanks

Can you post a link to the page you downloaded GDBT for ArcGIS 10 from? I can't seem to find it anywhere on esri.com.

Sorry for the confusion.
The problem this thread (and another) refer to may be due to the following:

This version of the Geodatabase Toolset for ArcCatalog 10.0 was accidentally placed on the external webiste.

The problem this thread (and another) refer to may be due to the following:
The Geodatabase Toolset for ArcCatalog 10.0 uses the following controls:
-Microsoft Common Dialog Control (comdlg32.ocx)
-Microsoft Chart Control (mschr20.ocx)
-Microsoft FlexGrid Control (msflxgrd.ocx)
-Microsoft Tabbed Dialog Control (tabctl32.ocx)

These are controls that have been commonly available with VB 6 and in older Windows OS' (ie. XP).
But in Win7, Windows 2008, etc. those controls are not found in the newer OS'.

We would like to include those controls in the install, but that requires review of licensing agreements. We are actively working on the licensing agreements but that is taking a long time.

In the meantime, while the controls listed may be found on the web and installed independently of GDBT for ArcCatalog 10.0, this has potential licensing problems. We are trying to work out these issues.

An install with the controls embedded will be available soon. If you have any questions please post them.

thanks
John

Hello, novice question, after I intall v10, how do I use it?  I do not see an extra GBDT tab in catalog.  It installed with no errors so I'm sure it's the user (me) who's not doing something right

Thanks in Advance
