Extend Line in Editor

I'm sure I'm missing a step and you'll have to forgive me. I've been using Intergraph for the last 1.5 yrs and just getting back to ArcMap which I couldn't be happier about. But some things have changed and I'm a little rusty. I have an ArcInfo license so I know I should be able to utilize this tool.

I'm trying to use the Extend Line tool. I have a feature class of centerline roads with three subtypes: Primary, Secondary and Tertiary. I need everything to snap to the primary roads if it is within 15 meters of the primary road. The tool tells me it completes and is successful, but nothing changes. Any ideas about what might be going on or where I am screwing up?

Sorry to say, no solution here. But just piling on...
I try to use the Extend Tool in an edit session on a Personal Geodatabase line feature class and I get ArcGIS freezes up. I click the tool button in the toolbar then click in the data frame and nothing.  Stopped dead. Go to Task Manager to stop process.  Anyone have any suggestions? (besides not using the Extend Tool?)

I am attempting to extend multiple lines (selected set). I started with a small group of 50, nothing. Next I tried a group of 10. Instead of extending the lines that were too short (25 feet parameter), it connected parallel lines to each other. Most of the time, it simply doesn't work.

In the tutorial, it works.. but I'm working in SDE and the tutorial data is not.

You need to do them one at a time.  You select the line you want the other line to extend to, then you click the line that you want extended, using the tool.

I'm trying to use the Extend Line tool. I am the middle class line feature for a three subtypes: primary, secondary and tertiary education. I need to take all major roads, in the case of a 15-meter main road. The meter runs out and tells me that it happened, but nothing changes. Any ideas on what might happen or where I'm screwing up?

I'm trying to extend 2 lines until they intersect eachother at some arbitrary point. In 9.3, all I had to do was make sure I clicked 3 verticies past their eventual intersection and it was all good. Is this simple task not possible in 10 without drawing an actual line for it to extend to?
