I have ArcView - ArcMap 9.3.  Can I export a feature class to an AutoCAD block with corresponding attribute data?  I actually need to export multiple feature classes into on AutoCAD block file.  I have tried the Export to CAD tool in ARcToolbox but eventhough I can see the attribute data in ArcCatalog but it does not appear to be visible in the created CAD file.  I don't have AutoCAD software myself so I've been e-mailing it back and forth with a friend who has both ArcView and AutoCAD.

Thank you.

In order to be able to export FC attributes to an AutoCad block you should use a seed file in the export process. A sid file is a DWG file that contains the block's definition. The attributes fields of the FC should have the same name as the block in the seed file. The export process uses the seed file as a template for exporting the FC information into the CAD file, including the attributes.
The reason you can see the Atributes of the CAD file only in ArcCatalog is that ArcGIS is using MSD (Mapping Specifiations for DWG), and these attributes can be seen in AutoCad only if you are using ArcGIS for AutoCad plug in:
