Dot Density option not showing up

I'm trying to use dot density to map some data within zip codes.  The data is in Double number format.

For some reason, the dot density option is not appearing in the Symbology list under Quantities.

I've tried exporting, reimporting, starting a new file, re-geocoding... nothing seems to make a difference.

Any suggestions would be very appreciated.

Is your data stored at points or polygons?

If the data is stored as points, the dot density function will not be displayed because it is only applicable for polygon features.
