Disable Double-Click to Finish Sketch?

Is there a way to disable the double-click to finish sketch?

I've got a user who clicks very fast (and accurately) but even with ControlPanel->Mouse Settings->double-click speed as fast as possible, he keeps closing polygons by accident... resulting frustration, and extra effort/rework to fix.

I think he'd much prefer having to hit F2 to end sketch

I've looked through the settings and customization in 10.1 as well as the help documentation, and it doesn't look like that is easily changeable, as far as I can tell. I'm guessing this could be altered in the program code itself!

May I suggest that this is submitted to the ESRI ideas web sit: ideas.arcgis.com.

I to would be interested because from time to time I do the same thing and it can be annoying if you have spent 20 minutes creating a large feature. I often finish my sketches by pressing F2 rather than double clicking so wouldn't having a problem with this change. Besides being optional one could choose.

Yes this is a big issue and an annoying issue with the 10 editing system.  I am one of those fast clickers and am constantly having to either re-do a line segment or having to stop and then later re-combining all the segments that accidentally get "finished" by the double-click.

I also have researched the Continue Sketch feature, which I guess will be part of 10.1 (which we do not have).  There is a program out there, but like many others with Admin rights, we are still unable to get that add-in to work (http://resources.arcgis.com/gallery/file/arcobjects-net-api/details?entryID=8556F0FF-1422-2418-A042-...).

So with neither one being an option now, I'm finding editing my line work very frustrating and annoying...

Pete,

The editing team is looking at the double click issue for a future release.

The continue sketch feature tool was added at 10.0 sp2 and is available via the customization dialog. This forum post link provides some more information. The tool was added to the edit vertices toolbar at 10.1

Sean, that is most welcomed news.

Another useful thing they could look at is selected multiple features below when editing. I can cycle through features but I cannot select multiple features or deselect certain features that are below.

also I tried cycling through a representation I was editing in ArcMap 10sp4 and found I could not select the feature below without moving the one above, selected the one below and then undoing the first move.

Not sure whether this behavior changed in 10.1 but I've recently switched jobs and I'm now using 10sp4.

Kind regards

I have now got the N keyboard shortcut to work with presentations. Not sure what I was doing wrong before.

Kind regards
