Create Local Copy for Editing - Storing data in ArcSDE GDB doesn't work

Hi:

Using the Local Editing tab on the Distributed Geodatabase Options dialog I select a SQLExpress ArcSDE GDB to store the data. However, when I "Create local Copy for Editing" from a Server feature service it stores the data in a temp file gdb. The syncing of edits works perfectly from this file gdb, but I'd like to use my ArcSDE database as the local data store.

The help doc on this is:

http://resources.arcgis.com/en/help/main/10.1/index.html#/Setting_options_for_editing_server_layers_...

Am I missing something?

Thanks,
