Changing the Run Time Memory Limit of a locator stored in a fGDB

...as per the geocoding blog, I have found some good speed increases by changing the run time memory limit without taxing my system too much by changing the .lot file.

But when a locator is in a fGDB, I'm not sure where to access the locator settings.  There is no .lot file and I'm not familiar enough to understand the difference between a locator in a GDB and one in a file folder.

Do I have to move it to file folder to access the .lot file and then move it back to the fGDB once I've made the appropriate changes?
