Cannot export/convert to raster

Hello,

I created a vector grid using ET Geo Wizards and now i want to associate to this grid with a raster using Spatial Analyst (zonal statistics).
However, originally i have an excel file with point coordinates. So first i need to convert these into a raster, right? I imported the excel table into ArcGIS, made a XY event and exported it into a shapefile. The problem is that i can't manage to convert this shapefile to raster!

I tried through Spatial Analyst (Convert > Features to raster) and got an error "Operation failed". And I also tried through Arc Toolbox (Conversion tools > To raster > Point to raster) and got the following error:

Executing (PointToRaster_1): PointToRaster "Sheet2$ Events" Dens C:\Users\Mar\Desktop\Sheet2$_Feat MOST_FREQUENT NONE 0,00016
Start Time: Fri Oct 28 04:11:18 2011
Error in executing function
Failed to execute (PointToRaster_1).
End Time: Fri Oct 28 04:11:18 2011 (Elapsed Time: 0,00 seconds)

Searching for an alternative, i created a geostatistical layer by interpolating the point shapefile but then when i try to export it to raster i also get an error "can't create output raster".

Someone knows what am I doing wrong? I'm using ArcGIS 9.2.
Thanks for your help!

Try removing the spaces and special characters in your input.

Thank you Eric, but I found out there's nothing wrong with my input file. I just tried exactly the same in a different computer and it worked out!

Computer where it worked:
ArcGis 9.2
Windows XP
Service Pack 3

My computer where i get all the error messages:
ArcGis 9.2
Windows 7 (32-bit)
Service Pack 1

Do you have any idea what might be causing this compatibility issue ? Thank you very much.
