Can't edit features "The opeation cannot be performed on a non-simple geometry"?

What does this mean? I'm totally new to ArcGIS 10, I'm trying to edit some polygons that partecipate in a topology, in addition all these geometries are sotred in mdb database as few feature classes and they appear as different layers in the map beacuse I set queries. I searched on the forum and I see that the problem is connected to the reasons I explained before but I really can't understand what do I have to do in order to edit these geometries.

I've had a lot of trouble in the past editing featureclasses with definition queries set on them.  ArcGIS does not like editing a layer that doesn't have the full array of data available I guess.

If possible, try getting rid of the definition queries and then editing it.  That should hopefully do it.  Once you're done the edits, you can reapply the definition queries.
