Can't display raster with unique values in Arc 10

Hi,

I commonly display single band raster layers by unique values stored in a grid value attribute table (sometimes the VALUE item, but sometimes other items joined to the attribute table). In all previous versions of ArcGIS, I've been able to simply select Unique Values from the Symbology tab and then select the attribute I want to display by. When I try to do this in Arc 10, I select an attribute and then it won't show any values for that attribute. If I click Add Values, it shows that there are no values to add. If I click OK, then nothing displays. In fact, if I open the attribute table for the raster after doing that, the table appears to be empty.

Is this just an issue with the conversion to GDAL under the hood? Are there any plans to fix this type of problem with rendering rasters? It's a major incovenience (and makes me glad that I still use 9.3.1 on all but one machine of mine).

If anybody knows a work around or fix to this problem, please let me know. Thanks.

Hi Greg,

What service pack are you running. I was working with someone that was experiencing the same behavior.  It was resolved by installing service pack 2.

Try installing the service pack from here:

Hope this helps.

Jamie, Thanks for the suggestion, but I'm already running Service Pack 2. OS is Windows 7 (in case that matters).

Hello,

although I installed the service pack 3 for ArcGIS 10, unique value raster from a  raster catalog are not
displayed when zoomed in. Neither they are exported or printed.
I calculated the pyramids and the statistics, there are no older (9.3) aux files in the folder.

Is there any solution to this, despite waiting on SP4 ?

Greets,
Michael.
