Alright folks, in need of some help here.
I am trying to configure things on a test environment before going live in production and keep hitting the same snag. It's gotten to the point where I'm about the pull the little bit of hair I have left out.
Scenario:
- Installed clean Windows 2008 R2 Server OS Standard 64 bit
- Installed SQL Server 2008 R2 Enterprise 64 bit
- Try to install ArcSDE 10.0 for 64 bit
It seems to go ok until it gets right tothe end and returns:
Error 1310. Error writing to file: msvcp80.dll. Verify that you have access to that directory.
Here is the kicker, I've enabled the built-in administrator and even make sure to run the installer as "administrator"
These are all clean installs on a clean OS. I don't think the dll is the problem, it's the access. I am sure if I removed it I'd still get it with another assembly.
Also, just for the fun of it, I went ahead and rand ArcSDE 32 bit and low and behold I had no problems. It ran great.
Ok, so I am thinking this is specific to the 64bi installer for ArcSDE but need help figuring it out. Who's with me?
Thanks - Tony
