(I'm an Oracle DBA, not a GIS specialist, be patient and kind)
I'm trying to help our GIS guys upgrade to ArcGIS 10. ArcSDE and Oracle are on different servers - SDE is on Windows 64-bit, Oracle is on Red Hat 64-bit. I've looked at the document "A quick tour of upgrading". Under the outline of steps, step 7 says "If the database and ArcSDE are installed on different servers, copy the st_geometry library from the ArcSDE installation bin directory to the Oracle installation directory on the database server". Is it as simple as copying that file from the Windows machine to the database server? That doesn't seem right. Will I have to install the Linux SDE version to get that file on the database server?
Thanks,
