In the Esri Community "Latest Activity" feed:
(link to post)
The content of the underlying post is included as a preview in the feed. As such, line breaks get automatically removed from the text to squish it into the preview section.
Instead of line breaks simply being removed, could they be replaced with a space? That would help with readability.
Thanks.
Thanks for bringing this request up, @Bud. It's a good point and I was able to replicate what you're experiencing in certain test cases. I'm bringing it back to the team for further investigation and to see what our options are. I'll follow up once we know more.
Thanks for your patience while waiting for an update on this, @Bud. Through analysis conducted between our team and our customization vendor, we were able to determine that the issue you identified is the result of text being copied from specific programs that strip the HTML (such as Notepad) so that our system's editor can't interpret the space correctly. In testing, we found the space is preserved when the text is typed into the post, copied from Word, or copied from the Esri Community website. We recommend using any of those methods for entering text into posts in order to avoid hugging text in the post preview. All the best!
