I have a background in geographic intelligence in the military, and now that I'm a civilian again, I am considering starting a GIS business.
The problem is that I am not sure which "niche" I want to focus on, so I am here to ask you all a question:
Is there a GIS, geospatial, geodetic, etc industry niche that has "recurring revenue" -- ie, revenue that is subscription-based, year-after-year, month-after-month, regular intervals, or steady flow rather than "project based" or "as needed", such as GIS consultant companies or survey companies. Often times companies with recurring revenue repair, maintain, certify, inspect or host stuff.
