Shortlist story map server?

Hi I am currently trying to deploy a Shortlist story map for the city I work for. Does anyone know the reason why you can create and host the Shortlist template on AGOL but you have to deploy it using your own server or website? Since I am working for the city we need to make sure the security of our server is not compromised. Does anyone have any ideas on how to deploy a shortlist story map on a city website?

Thanks for your interest, it is in our roadmap to make shortlist available as a regular template in ArcGIS Online. In the meantime yes you have to deploy it but there is no specific security need as it's only a client side application.
