scale bars on story maps

Hi there,

I have been accused by a hardcore cartographer for neglecting basic rules of map design in my story maps, e.g. adding a scalebar. Indeed, I saw a few story maps that include scalebars and I would like to add one to the swipe-app and the side-accordion-app. Any hints?

looking at the default swipe app, I don't think you can add a scalebar. You could however download the swipe app and modify the code and add a scalebar.  scalebar-amd | API Reference | ArcGIS API for JavaScript‌
