Do storymaps have to be publicly available? I am making a map for a client but the data needs to remain private. Before I go further with the storymap I would like to make sure it can be accessed privately (only to those invited).

Thank you!

Hi,

To use private webmap or webmap shared with users through groups you need an ArcGIS Online Organization account.
If the template you want to use is hosted in ArcGIS Online, it's a definitive yes.

Most of the downloadable also have that capability but it can be more work if you have user using older browser (IE9 and below require a server side proxy application). User is prompted to sign-in with a pop-up inside the application.

Thank you!
We do have an ArcGIS Online account and for now I am sharing with the Filter storymap. I will look at the options and make sure it has group only accessibility.
