ArcReader scale dependent XY labels

I have noticed in ArcReader 9 and 10 that adding XY labels seems to be dependent on the original scale of the document. So if you zoom in, the labels don't rescale but become enormous. This makes it impossible to zoom to an area and place an XY coordinate - the only way it works is at the original scale of the map. Am I missing something in my original MXD or is this just an ArcReader issue?

Are you talking about regular labels?  I haven't had any trouble with them scaling or maintaining scale depending on the setting in the original .mxd file.
