Will ArcPad work on any iPad-type devices?

I am a long time user, having always used ArcPad on a PDA.  Tablets have been too heavy and too expensive.

The new smaller lighter yet much bigger screen iPad type devices are very intriguing as a field device.  Will ArcPad work on any of them???????

Hi John,

Unfortunately the answer is no.  ArcPad will only run on Windows Mobile based devices and not on iOS, Android or Windows Phone 7 based devices.  You can refer to the system requirements page for more details.

Esri does have mobile solutions for these other platforms available.  You can get information on those applications here to see if any of them will meet your needs.  Thanks!

Since the question says 'ipad type' devices, dont forget there are many windows 7 tablets out and more coming with the same form factor as the ipad. These devices have the added bonus of usb ports and memory card slots too and should be considered when you are choose your ArcPad hardware.
