So i created a .shp file in arcpad. I now want to display the information I collected using this file in arcmap. I copied the file from my trimble to a usb pen. However when i copied the files over to my desktop they are displayed as a MENC file with a .menc extension. I can see the .shp files names but cant get thm to open in arcpad

For example:

Survey_point.shp.c8e4f17f.menc
Survey_point.shx.c8e4f17f.menc
Survey_point.dbf.c8e4f17f.menc
Survey_point.prj.c8e4f17f.menc

Do i need to convert them or something?

Okay I've sorted the problem myself now. A .menc file is an encryted file created in windows mobile when you save a file to a flash device. To get around this I have disabled encrypting in ArcPAD.
