I'm having trouble moving a geodatabase that I've created in ArcMap on my PC to a Juno GPS device I have that runs ArcPad. I can transfer shapefiles just fine but when I attempt to move the geodatabase I can't see if in the program files on the Juno. I need to transfer the geodatabase (or some form of it) because it has a drop-down "pick list" menu associated with it that is vital to my Juno needs. When I export the geodatabase to a shapefile it loses the "pick-list" function. Does anyone have experience with this?
If I am reading your post correctly, you have some feature classes that you need to edit on your Juno device that have some domains and subtypes associated with them that you need to specify while out in the field and your trying to figure out how to get the feature classes over to the Juno device so that you can edit them. If this is the case, then I would suggest simply using the ArcPad Data Manager toolbar within ArcMap to 'check-out' your data to an .axf. When you check out feature classes that have domains and subtypes associated with them, you will get the "pick-list" you are describing when you edit the features in ArcPad.
This link (Attributes (AXF features)) states that "Domains are defined as part of the ArcPad AXF database schema. The schema can be defined for the geodatabase in ArcCatalogTM (ArcGIS Desktop). The ArcPad Data Manager for ArcGIS Desktop reads the geodatabase schema and creates the corresponding schema for the output ArcPad AXF file. ArcPad Studio can also be used to view and edit the schema for ArcPad AXF files."
