Migrated over to version 10 and I know longer see the ArcPad Data Manager as a box under the extensions that I can check and turn on.  Any tips on getting this to work in ArcGis V 10 would be great (I'm running v 8 of arcpad).

The only prerequisite as to why that would happen is because ArcPad is not installed or ArcGIS is not recognizing the installation for some reason.  Are you 100% sure that you have ArcPad installed on the desktop?  If so, I would attempt repair of the ArcPad installation in your 'control panel' in windows.  If no luck there, just attempt a reinstall.

Hi jsarrow,

If ArcPad is installed prior to installing ArcGIS or, as in this case, ArcGIS is upgraded to a new version and ArcPad is not, it's common to see this happen.  I most cases, the underlying issue is most likely due to the ArcPadToolsGen2.dll file not registering properly.  Take a look at this KB article and see if the steps help.  Once the .dll is registered, the Data Manager should be visible.

Thanks

thanks for the replies Todd and Alex.  The info in the KB article did it, registered ArcPad and the data manger is now in available for use in v10.

Thanks!
