How and where to put the streetmap data on a mobile / handheld?

This sounds like a really basic question - but where do I put the data on the handheld unit?  Well - I know I will put it on the SD card - there is lots of room - but how?  This really needs to be explained!  There is nowhere in help or anywhere else easily accessed that explains this.  In other versions it was very clear how to install Streetmap and it's data.

I deployed Streetmap to my SD card - but the navigator toolbar - (you need to explain what the toolbar icon for this is in help - not just mention it, without an image of it!) - has no functions for Streetmap.  I thought the data was there.  Very poor explanation - it's deployed - but has no data - or what?

Thanks!

I loaded it on the SD card.  Try to add it as a layer - nothing happens.  The navigator toolbar seems to be greyed out.  Not sure where to go from here.

Hi Steven,

What Esri software are you using on your mobile handheld? StreetMap data is available for various Esri software solutions but the StreetMap license is specific to the software (ie ArcPad StreetMap, ArcLogistics Navigator StreetMap, ArcGIS Mobile StreetMap). Please provide additional information to help troubleshoot your challenge including software product & version, StreetMap vendor & release, .sdlic file, mobile handheld device & OS.

Thanks,
Denise

Well, this will sound stupid - and perhaps it is - Streetmap was loaded on the SD card.  That's always what I did in the past.  Well, now I loaded the extension on the 'device' from the ArcPad Deployment Manager and Streetmap now works.  Not sure if the data from the 'DVD' on the SD card is important , but it is still loaded.

No problem Steven, glad you are up and working again. Yes, you would need to deploy ArcPad StreetMap extension to your mobile device and ensure that the extension is turned on in ArcPad Advanced Settings window.

I am going to move this thread to ArcPad Forums so other users can benefit from information.
