Hello All,
I am in the process of setting up an ArcPad 7.1 application and I was wondering if it was possible in ArcPad to hide field names and to use the field name alias instead of the actual field name.  Regarding the hidden field names, in ArcMap I have unchecked several fields for a layer however when I extract the data over to ArcPad all of the field names still are present.  If it is possible to not show some field names in ArcPad what are the necessary steps.  Also, if it is possible to show alias names instead of the actual field names, what are the steps needed to allow these alias names to be visible in ArcPad.  Unfortunately, I do not have the ArcPad development tools, everything I am doing is just simple out of the box stuff.  Thank you in advance for any help or suggestions.  Have a great day.

Kirby,

Out of the box with ArcPad and no customization, I was able to use the following version(s) and work flow. I was able to hide field names and use the field??s alias display within ArcPad after the data was checked out. Gracias, Kirby!

Within ArcPad 8 & 10, ArcMap 9.3.1 & 10.0.4 this is possible with the following work flow.
-Data set (shapefile or feature class from .mdb or .fgdb)
-Check out creating an .axf file for all above data formats
