Feature Class Attributes not being exported to ArcPad?

So, I have a polygon that I am trying to have show as it does in ArcMap:

However when checked out and opened in ArcPad, it is one color:

As you can see it is the color of the <other> category.  This leads me to believe that the attributes under "Precinct_NAC" are not being copied or seen by ArcPad.  What is going on here.  Am I going to have to create a new layer for each different color?  Help!

Hi Win,

You could be encountering a current challenge in ArcPad but cannot confirm this until you log the behavior (along with sample data) with Esri Support, http://support.esri.com/, for further review and research. The most probable issues are listed here:
CQ00309990; Multiple values for a symbol are not exported to the layer definition (fix slated for 10.1 release)
CQ00312816; Checkout to AXF referencing APL with features symbolized by categories does not  preserve symbology
