I'm very new to GIS.   I am trying to collect some points on our Trimble.  After using Arcpad to collect them, when I import them into ArcMap, they are off about 15' to the west.  To further test the alignment of the points, because so many things can be configured in ArcMap, I upload the points to ArcGIS online instead to see if they show on their ortho correctly.  If they do, I assume I can import them into my mxd and they will show correctly.  When I import them to ArcGIS Online, they are off, just as they are in ArcMap.  I have to conclude that soemthing is off on the Trimble because the other shape files I have show up correctly within ArcMap and on ArcGIS online.  With the shape file created on the Trimble, they are off.

Within ArcPad I'm using WGS_1984.   I throught WGS_1984 was the standard and they would show up on ArcGIS online correctly?

Can anyone help me?  I used GPS Pathfinder to post process one set of points I collected but it only shifted them slightly, not enough to put them in the correct spot.

Thank you,
Chris

You are on the right track here. What correction source are you using in the GeoXH? If you are using SBAS for sub-meter accuracy then you should not use the ArcPad GPS Datum default of WGS_1984, instead you need to use one of the ITRF datums, due to the SBAS corrections. If you are utilizing a VRS/RTN, then you need to find out what the network is sending for corrections and match up the GPS Datum accordingly.

I hope this helps.
