I have been checking out/in data from ArcMap (in an Enterprise Geodatabase) daily for the last six months without a problem. One morning I was doing some testing on a customized ArcPad project, the checkout was working fine. That afternoon I tried to do my daily checkout and it crashed ArcMap 10.1. For the last few days I have tried everything I can think of to remedy this problem, but nothing has worked. Here is what I have tried:
-Installing newest patches for ArcMap
-Uninstalling ArcPad and re-installing newer version (10.0.1 to 10.0.4)
-Re-installing ArcMap
-Uninstalling ArcPad and deleting all associated files
-Remapping my network drives
There are two ways I have been able to work around my problem to "Get data for ArcPad":
1. Use a different computer (it is slow and not my higher powered GIS machine)
2. Put the data on my local C: drive and then do the checkout. It will not work on my other local drive only my local C: drive.
Neither one of these work around will work permanently because I need to be able to work from my workstation instead of machine hoping. The data is on our server, it would take a lot more steps to checkout the data to my local machine to checkout to ArcPad.
Does anyone have any suggestions of what I could try to overcome this problem? Or does Esri have a solution to this, as I have read posts of this happening in the past?
Thank you in advance.
