Been told to not use the cab.file when checking out features to my GPS unit. Does not give you the option to deploy the information to your unit when you click finish to check out. Ok, then how do you get your feature class information to your unit,

If you are not using a cab file then on the final window of the checkout select "Create the ArcPad data on this computer now".  This will create a folder with your checkout in it, transfer this folder to your device.  When you go to open your next map search for this folder, and select the apm file for your checkout.
