Cannot collect more than 999 photos in arcpad

I am using arcpad and an axf file to collect field data.  The axf file includes 3 feature classes each of which have a field for collecting photos.  When i exceed 999 photos feature collection is still possible, but photo collection is not.  The SD card is nowhere near capacity (about 500 mb on a 8 gig SD card).   

I am using a trimble geoexplorer 6000 series
Arcpad 10.1
windows mobile 6.5

I assume it has something to do with ram usage, but I haven't found anyone with the same problem.  The closest I get to a similar issue is ram related speed issues resulting from large datasets.  Is this too much data?

Hi,

This is a known limitation of the platform:

Investigation of this issue shows that folders on Windows Mobile 6.0 and Windows Mobile 6.5.3 cannot hold more than 1000 files with the same filename prefix. This is mostly likely a limit of the WinCE 5.

If you change the prefix you should be fine.
