Arcpad10 quick-capture toolbar records data incorrectly in coded-value domains

This is quite complicated to explain but I hope it makes sense...

I have exported a point feature class from within a personal geodatabase (and with symbology classes defined by a coded-value attribute domain (text) in ArcMap) to arcpad as a .axf file.
When recording new point features in this layer in Arcpad 10 using the quick-capture toolbar (by clicking on one of the symbol class icons for this layer), the data appears to record with all the correct attribute values as defined by the coded-value domains from the original geodatabase. However, when I check-in the data back to the geodatabase the values have all been recorded in CAPITAL LETTERS, which is not the format of the original attribute domain for this layer.

The problem is occurring only in the field which defines the symbol classes. This problem may sound trivial but it is actually a real pain because there will be several thousand points recorded in this layer and all of these will need to be checked and corrected.

Does anyone have a solution to this one? A free patch from ESRI perhaps..?

I have the exact same problem and can't seem to find a solution online.  I'm using ArcMap 10.1 and  ArcPad 10.0.  I've worked on the forms in ArcPad Studio and have tried to make changes to the field control, with no success.  I can work on my pc in ArcPad and get accurate results, but once it is edited on the Trimble GPS unit and I check-in the data with ArcGIS, all the data is in capital letters.  Anyone have a solution?

Thanks,

Hi All,

This bug was recognized in ArcPad 10 and was fixed in ArcPad 10.0.1

Please update your ArcPad Installation to resolve this issue.

From the ArcPad 10.0.1 Release Notes: Case sensitivity is enforced in ArcPad for symbology classification codes, ensuring that coded values are saved correctly and match coded value domains in the parent geodatabase.

Thanks,

Hannah
