When I open a project file on my PDA(which I created on my desktop) and activate my GPS I get an error message of "The GPS cannot be activated as there is no projection currently defined". I then go into table of contents and set the projection file to what I want and get asked "would you like to set GCS_NZGD_2000' as default map projection" I agree and can use GPS  no problems. I then save a and quit project but it does not seem to hold this projection as default for this project. I have to repeat the process everytime I open this project.  Is there something I can do so that  my co-ord system that I want is the default for this project. I have copied the prj file to where I am suppose to and it does work for a new project, however in this case I have many layers and preferences set and don't want to recreate the project on my PDA. It holds projection change on my desktop?

Projection information is stored within the ArcPad map document (.apm). Any changes that you make can be persisted by saving the map document for your project *(instead of adding your project layers to a new map each time).

If you are using ArcPad 10 -  I suggest upgrading to 10.0.2 to take advantage of the ArcPad App Shortcuts. These allow you to set all of your configurations, your map and your data to launch from a single icon (desktop and device). This is especially useful if you are running multiple projects.

Hello,

I am using ArcPad 8.0 on my trimble Juno SC and I am asking where can I set the projection file? I get the same message as Hannah but I do not know where to go into this Table of contents as Hannah did and set the projection.
Thank you.
