ArcPad in ArcGIS v10

I understand that ArcPad 7.1 and ArcPad 8 are not functional with beta 1 or beta 2.  Will ArcPad compatibility be available in the next beta release, or has ESRI decided to abandon the idea of ArcPad interacting with ArcGIS Desktop starting at version 10?

I was a previous ArcPad beta tester and got an email that said the ArcPad beta 10 is coming out later in the month.  You may have to go apply for that separately.

yes, the first ArcPad 10 beta version will be available shortly. To download this you need to join the ArcPad beta program (seperate to ArcGIS).

So does this mean that only ArcPad 10 will be supported in ArcGIS 10?  Or will the final release of ArcGIS 10 also include support for ArcPad 7.1.1 and/or 8?

We have several older devices with Windows CE that need to use ArcPad 7.1.1 (ArcPad 8 needs Windows Mobile).  I'm trying to determine if those will be obsolete once we upgrade to ArcGIS 10.
