I collect a lot of point data using a Trimble Nomad with ArcPad software. This field season I used ArcPad 10, in past I used ArcPad 8. I've had an annoying problem with ArcPad 10 regarding the GPS cursor location. After I collect a point and return to the screen showing my location, the refreshed screen zooms out much further than I want and shows my location in the NW quadrant of the map. I work with topographic bases as base layer and when it zooms out they are hard to read so I end up having to zoom back in several times and then centering on the GPS. Is there a way to correct this problem in ArcMap?

Katie,

Unfortunately, this is a known issue in ArcPad 10.

CQ00312611: ArcPad 10 extent is not maintained, zoom out occurs after collecting point or accessing map properties.

The status of this bug is currently "Open".  At this time there aren't any known workarounds.
