yup, sdc can be use in arcpad 8. just open the . navmap file in arcpad. all the sdc file header are in this navmap. i've create a program which allows to manage all the sdc files in navmap. with this program you can add or remove sdc file from the navmap list, change color, thickness or set the map scale and many features that you can use.
