I have a question how the best way to show a satellite picture in ArcPad and using a GPS. I get a picture in JPG format inclusive a .JGW file. I put them in a map on storage card on my Trimble Nomad using arcPad 10. I can open the picture but when I want to activate GPS on item I get follow answer "GPS could not be activated beacause no projektion are definated". I have in ArcPad setting Swerer99 witch is correct for Sweden.
If I don`t open the picture the GPS working in program and get fix point so it`s something incorrect with the file or some settings in ArcPad I think?
I hope someone of you expert here could give me some help to get this working. Also I want to have a idea witch file on fly- or satelite format is best to use, I schouldwork with the item in forest and when I get deep in picture it`s not so clear beacause pixels. Someone say to me to save picture in TIFF format. All respons is welcome;-)

I would go to Options>Advanced Settings>Extensions and make certain both JPEG and JPEG2000 are "checked". Also, when you stated you have the ArcPad setting at Swerer99, are you saying the datum is set to Swerer or your projection file? Is this setting you speak of in GPS Preferences>Datum?

One other item, how are you transferring your data from your PC to the unit? Are you checking-out data from ArcGIS Desktop 10 via ArcPad Data Manager?

Thanks for answer, I check tomorrow in office wich exactly settings in the Nomad and ArcPad. I have only the ArcPad on my Trimble Nomad and no more ArcGIS program. I get this JPG file included one .JGW file to me in a e-mail from a company i get work for.  Do I need another PC program before sending it to item to check out data? Now I have open a ZIP file wich was included in a e-mail, open it up and copy this in to my storage card in Nomad.
